The instruments played in the band :
Morchang : an Indian version of the Jew's harp. It is used as a percussion instrument in folk music. The plaintive, melancholic twang of the morchang adds a desolate dimension to the songs. This instrument produces a variety of notes and weaving a large range of rhythmic patterns. Algoja : A double flute made of bamboo, the algoza works on the same principle as a bagpipe and is a tricky instrument to master. One of the two flutes usually plays a continuous drone while the other plays different notes. The player has to master the art of breathing without letting the sound of the algoza break even for a bit. Dholak : a classical North Indian barrel drum. A dholak may have traditional lacing or turnbuckle tuning. The dholak has a simple membrane and a handle on the right-hand side. The dholak is often used in Indian film music Khartal : it is a devotional instrument which is used at the time of religious singing. It consists of a pair of flat rectangular wooden clappers, having thin brass jingles attached to it. Harmonium : it is a reed organ with hand pumped bellows. Today, it is used in virtually every musical genre except the south Indian classical. Bendir : it is a hand drum which is known by many different names ; a snare attached to the inside of the drumhead is typical of this instrument. . Tablas : it is a pair of drums and consists of a small right hand drum called dayan and a larger metal one called bayan. A bell-like timbre is characteristic of the instrument.
